FCWT Tournament Withdrawal Policy
The FCWT has instituted the following tournament withdrawal policy for juniors who withdraw from an event after they have started their first round.
Once play has begun all juniors
wishing to withdrawal must report to the Tournament Director before leaving the
golf course or city in which the event is taking place before the competition
has closed. The Tournament Director will ask the junior to give a reason for
the withdrawal. The Tournament Director will also ask the junior’s fellow
competitors questions about the player’s withdrawal. Based on the information
gathered, the FCWT Tournament Director will categorize the junior’s withdrawal
in one of three categories listed below and the corresponding action will take
place:
Justified Withdrawal - The junior is obviously ill, injured, or a family
tragedy has occurred.
The Tournament Director and the junior will sign the Scorecard and (WD
– illness or injury) will be listed next to the junior’s name in the
tournament results. The Tournament Director will report the withdrawal to the
FCWT Review Board and no further action will be taken.
Questionable Withdrawal - The Tournament Director is unable to determine if
the junior is withdrawing for a legitimate reason or an extreme weather delay
which may cause a junior to miss a flight and/or incur substantial costs.
If the Tournament Director is unable to determine if a junior has legitimate
reason for withdrawing from a tournament they will rule the withdrawal
questionable. The Tournament Director and the junior will sign the Scorecard
and (WD) will be listed next to the junior’s name in the tournament
results. The Tournament Director will report the withdrawal to the FCWT Review
Board and a questionable withdrawal will be recorded in the junior’s history.
REVIEW: Once a junior receives two questionable withdrawals their membership will be suspended and the junior will not be eligible for year-end honors.
Unjustified Withdrawal - The junior is obviously withdrawing due to poor play or lack of ambition to play. This includes juniors leaving the golf course or city in which the event is conducted without speaking to the Tournament Director at the site.
This is a serious breach of the FCWT Withdrawal Policy and the Tournament Director will rule the withdrawal unjustified. The Tournament Director and the junior (if available) will sign the Scorecard and (WD or DQ 6-3a) will be listed next to the junior’s name in the tournament results depending on the nature of the situation.
REVIEW: The Tournament Director will report the withdrawal to the FCWT Review Board and the junior’s membership will be suspended and the junior will not be eligible for year-end honors. If a junior has previously been accepted into an FCWT tournament, they will be immediately withdrawn.
