Greg Holmes “For the Good of the Game” awardIn 2004 the FCWT began selecting a player or players who represent the game of golf well under a variety of circumstances. The FCWT has presented these players with the “For the good of the game award”. Each year the FCWT staff reviews the nominees and then selects the young people who have consistently shown demeanor that has been fitting of a Champion. This year's recipients have played in 14 and 17 events respectively over the past three seasons.
From Marysville, OH, Tess Fraser and from Ottawa, ONTARIO, CANADA, Greg Holmes Players of the Year AwardsBoys 13-15 DivisionThe Boys 13-15 division was extremely competitive this season. So much so that when the committee reviewed player performances, it was impossible to narrow the recipient to just one. Both of these young men demonstrated their ability to compete consistently with their peers in a variety of circumstances at great venues. Representing tournament wins at Reunion, Mystic Dunes, Eagle Creek, TPC Tampa Bay, Bridgewater and TPC Sawgrass, the 2010-2011 Players of the Year are: Luis Enriquez from Mexico City, MEXICO and Terrence Zhang of Orlando, Florida Girls 13-18 divisionThis season the FCWT Laura Diaz Girls 13-18 division had some marvelous young ladies who competed consistently time and again as reflected by the quality of players on the 1st Team All-American. Two players made just a little greater impact. With 12 events between them, only one of their finishes was outside the Top 5. Between them they have 6 wins on the season in two different regions of the country. This year’s FCWT Laura Diaz Girls Players of the Year are: Christina Ocampo from Delray Beach, FL and Mika Liu from Lakewood Ranch, FL. Boys 16-18 divisionThe Players selected for this award are from opposite sides of the country. Both are worthy recipients. With 5 wins between them, the FCWT Jim McLean Boys 16-18 Players of the Year are: Andrew Buchanan from Los Altos Hills, CA and Peter Valasek from Orlando, FL.
