Players of Promise
During the 2006-07 season we added an additional award for the youngest age divisions. This season, we have selected a Player of Promise from both the East Coast and the West Coast in the Boys 11-12 division and an overall Girls 11-14 division Player of Promise. Each of these players stands out among their peers as a player who has outstanding potential in the game of golf. This year’s recipients of the Player of Promise Award are: Samantha Wagner of Easton, PA, Daniel Jaramillo of Medellin, COLOMBIA and Christopher Petefish of Danville, CA.
FCWT Academic Team
In 2004, the FCWT Junior Golf Tour began recognizing the Academic achievements of its members. Each subsequent season the selected players have raised the bar for Academic excellence. Players on this team had a minimum GPA of 3.8 in any given semester. Thirteen members have higher than a 4.0 cumulative GPA. Six are ranked # 1 in their class. Of those who have taken the SAT, their scores ranged from 2000 to 2330 on the 2400 scale, and of those who have taken the ACT, the scores ranged from 29 to 33. These students are representative of the 97th percentile or higher in the nation.

For the Good of the Game
In 2004 the FCWT began selecting a player or players who represent the game of golf well under a variety of circumstances and presented them with the “For the good of the game award”. Each year several players on the FCWT are nominated for this award, because many of you are this type of player.
The young people chosen for this award have consistently showed demeanor that has been fitting of a Champion. This year's recipients have played the FCWT long enough to see good days and bad days. One is a 4th year FCWT player, the other a 5th year player. One has played in 18 junior golf tournaments, the other in 30.
It gives the FCWT great pleasure to announce this year’s recipients of the FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME award: from Bradenton, FL, Daniela Lendl and from Winnetka, IL, Wilson Bowen.
PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
The Boys 13-15 division saw some excellent consistency at the Regional level this season. Each region had a player of dominance who could be counted on for solid play. The West Region Player had 4 wins in 7 starts and never finished lower than 4th; the Central Region Player of the Year won three events out of 8 and had the highest Top 3 finish percentage in this division (88%) for the season; the East Region Player of the Year
also had three wins this season and led the Top 10 finish category for the 13-15 year olds. This years' recipients of the Boys 13-15 Regional Players of the Year are: Macgregor Hoobery from Santa Maria, CA (2011), Patrick Rodgers from Avon, IN (2011), and James Yoon from Asuncion, PARAGUAY (2012).
By December of 2007, the recipient of this award had won her first three FCWT events. She played 5 more times this season, never finishing lower than 5th. A third year FCWT player and 2-time All-FCWT player, this year’s East Region FCWT Laura Diaz Player of the Year is Victoria Kiser from Orlando, FL (2010).
This young lady is a second year FCWT player who played twice and won twice. Last season she was named to the All-FCWT Team for winning at Notre Dame and having three other top 10 finishes. The FCWT Laura Diaz Central Region Player of the Year Lindsey Solberg from Verona, WI (2008).
The young lady who will be receiving this year's award won 3 times, and out of 8 events finished in the top 5, 100% of the time, and had 6 out of 8 finishes in the Top 3 (75%). At 15, she is now completing her third season on the FCWT and is currently ranked 132 in the Golfweek rankings as a freshman. The FCWT Laura Diaz West Region Player of the Year from Monument, CO, is Paige Spiranac.
This third year FCWT senior, played in four events this season, and finished in the Top 10 in each. He also won the Mission Hills Invitational in December with rounds of 68-66 - 134, 6 under par for the event. A true student-athlete, Maxwell Scodro of Chicago, IL (2008) is this season's Boys 16-18 Central Region Player of the Year.
The East Region player of the year had 3 wins this season and carded a round in the 60s in four separate events. Currently ranked # 74 in the Golfweek/Titleist rankings, this 15 year old is one to watch. This year’s East Region Player of the Year from Cheltenham, ENGLAND is Oscar Sharpe.
The West Region Player of the Year played 3 events and won twice. This sixteen year old had the lowest scoring average of players who played at least 7 rounds of FCWT junior golf tournament play (71.43). In his third season on the FCWT, this player is now ranked in the Top 100 in the Golfweek/Titleist rankings. This year’s West Region player of the year is Ben Itterman from Carlsbad, CA.
This year's recipient of the Boys 16-18 Overall Player of the Year is a fourth year player who will be off to the college ranks in the fall. In four events this season, he won three times and finished in the Top 3 in all four events. Currently ranked the 10th best player in the country by the Golfweek/Titleist rankings, Sean Dale of Jacksonville, FL (2008) is the FCWT Boys 16-18 Player of the Year.
