2003-2004 FCWT Awards

The 2003-2004 FCWT Teams in the Boys 13-15 division are as follows:

This year’s Players of the Year each won 3 or more junior golf tournaments. 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR (EAST REGION):  Cody Paladino with wins at The Links, New Seabury (13-15 and overall), Tanglewood, and Stow Acres

PLAYER OF THE YEAR (CENTRAL REGION): Nathan Chambers with wins at University of Oklahoma (11-12 division), Bear Creek East and Waterchase

PLAYER OF THE YEAR (WEST REGION):  Kenneth McCready with wins at ASU, Teal Bend and Bayonet
 

The members of the 1^st Team in the boys 13-15 division represent 18 wins on the FCWT this season.  Additionally, they represent 22 Top 3, 24 Top 5, and 29 Top 10 finishes.  Each junior golfer has 2 or more victories. 

 The members of the 2^nd team represent 16 FCWT junior golf tournament wins, 48 Top 3 finishes and 57 Top 5 finishes this season.  Each member has at least 1 win and at least 2 additional Top 5 finishes. 

The members of the 3rd team represent 7 FCWT junior golf tournament wins, 9 Top 3 finishes and 10 Top 5 finishes this season.  Each member has at least one win and at least one other top 5 finish.

The members of this team represent 8 FCWT Junior Golf Tournament wins, 12 Top 3 finishes and 11 Top 5 finishes this season. 

Boys 16-18 division are as follows:

PLAYER OF THE YEAR:  Tim McKenney of Scottsdale, AZ

If you were to ask this year’s Player of the Year, his secret to success, he would probably say “Play, play and play some more.”  The recipient of this year’s award has been winning on the FCWT since the 1999-2000 season.  On November 28, 1999, he won his first event of that season at Tucson National in the boys 11-12 division.  He went on to win 4 more times that season:  ASU, Tapatio, 12 Bridges, and Pumpkin Ridge.  His scoring average that season was a 77.8.  Fast forward to the 2003-2004 season, back to Tucson for the Thanksgiving tournament.  This time he came up just a little short and finished 2nd, after a disappointing 3^rd round.  But that was not to happen again.  In December he won at ASU and in March he won at Bayonet, the FCWT’s highest rated regular season event on the Golfweek/Titleist Sagarin rankings.  Bayonet has been in the Top 10 since it was first ranked.  His scoring average this season is 71.62, which includes a round of 69 (day 2 at ASU), an eagle in round 2 on the 18^th hole at Bayonet and 28 pars in 8 rounds of golf.  This year’s Player of the Year from Scottsdale, AZ is sophomore Tim McKenney.
